Part 1 of an interview with coaches Kari Strang, Eric Dettman, and Thor Esbensen.

Top Oregon high school cross country and track and field coaches Kari Strang (Summit HS), Eric Dettman (Lincoln HS), and Thor Esbensen (Ida B. Wells HS) talk about the demands and challenges of being a leader to both a team and a staff.

The trio talk about what they feel they do well, and honestly assess what they need to do better, about how they structure their season, and how they create a positive team culture. We learn that success as a high school head coach isn't just about winning. Listen to this fascinating conversation with three brilliant coaches who love what they do and want to share their coaching passion with you.
